This is one of 5 spots on my son. The biggest if them. The doctor said it was ring worm, but we have been applying the creme from 2 weeks now and they all look the same? I just am not sure as I have seen ring worm before and it didn't really look like this - but my son is dark complected. I just need to see if I should get another opinion or just wait it out and use up all the creme we were given and maybe it will clear up. But my daughter doesn't have anything similar and they rarely do anything separately and I know ring worm can be contagious so that makes me wonder as well. My son had eczema as a baby, so I wasn't sure if that could be the cause? But we have gone to public pools this summer which doctor said could be where he got it.

Any thoughts are appreciated. :flower:

Not sure on ringworm but doesnt look like exzema to me. Id go back to your gp

My sister kept getting told ringworm but was psoriasis . It doesn't look like ring worm to me. I'm a vet nurse and come across it a fair bit.

I don't think it looks like ringworm either. I've had it a couple of times. I can see how the doctor would have thought that initially but usually if it starts to spread it keeps the circular pattern... that looks more blotchy to me. I would get him back into the dr.

My son gets eczema that looks just like this. A GP said it was ringworm for 13 months (off and on, it would come and go) until I got fed up of the treatment not working, took him elsewhere and it cleared up in days with proper care.

It definitely does not look like ringworm.. I would think the cream would have helped at least a bit.. I would definitely get a second opinion..It could be just a reaction to something he ate or touched..
My oldest son ( now 24) got a rash so bad, all over his body..For weeks we went crazy trying to understand WTF caused it..Turns out it was Bounce, the fabric softner...One time when he was younger another rash, strawberries caused it  I know it's really frustrating, but get a second opinion and try to think if you started to use something new ( a product) or he ate something he usually doesn't eat..Could be he used someone's towel and got a reaction..It could be so many things..( I don't think it is anything serious..) Just a reaction to something..
Good Luck <3

Thanks! I have continued to use the anti fungal creme that as pprescribed - no improvement. It hasn't spread anywhere else either. I have decided to use up all the creme before we go back to the doctor again, and then go from there.

Sometimes Lucas's eczema looks just like this, bumpy like chicken skin and pink. Maybe try some coconut oil or a gentle moisturiser.
