Anyone else suffering with this? I've got it so badly in my right arm that the pain will wake me up several times a night...during the day my middle & ring fingers are completely numb and it's affecting so many things I need to do.

I've got a wrist brace but it doesn't seem to work, so wondering if anyone's got any tips?

I have it, too. It has ruined my sleep most of this entire third trimester! I wish I had any tips to give you, but alas, I don't. Dr. didn't do anything for me, either, other than to tell me it would go away immediately after delivery. I hope this is true, because this is a painful and horribly frustrating affliction, especially when we have so many other things we need to be concerned about.

I had it with ds no2 . It may take some time to go after delivery so don't be alarmed if it isn't immediate, for me it was about 6 weeks, but got less as the days went on. Good luck. x

I had CTS in my first pregnancy and I wore wrist splits in both wrists!! It took SIX MONTHS after delivery for it to go away :( My DH had to help me with bathing the baby. I am hoping that I would be lucky this time but I'll see.

This is my 3rd pregnancy and had CTS with all of my pregnancies it's very painful and I received some gloves(from my doctor) to wear to keep the blood flowing through my hands.

I've had CTS since about 20 weeks, or at least that's when it started getting bad. I just finished up my college semester in which I was taking ceramics. So I'm sure the constant working with clay and then hand painting the glaze on all the pieces didn't make it any better. I wear one of those arthritis gloves because it keeps more pressure on my hand/wrist. I've noticed that soaking my hands in hot water takes the pain down A LOT. I usually fill up a big bowl and just sit at the table with my hands/wrists in the hot water.
My Dr told me to put Epsom salts in the water, which I've tried and it works wonders!

Thanks for the replies everyone.

I read somewhere that ice can also help - took a bag of peas from the freezer and laid it on my wrist but it had completely the opposite effect and set my whole arm of fire - I literally was howling with the pain and was afraid to call DH in case he thought I was in labour :haha:

I'm self-employed and work from home (lots of computer work), so have advised my clients that as of next week I'll be starting my maternity leave. First time having a break in almost 3 years - feels really strange!
