Went in the morning of June 20 at 5am. Got hooked up to IV and had pitocin started by 6am. Started out dilated to a 2-3. At 7:45am my doctor broke my water and within 30 minutes I was ready to have the epidural. The anesthesiologist hit a blood vessel with the first attempt, I got very light headed and nearly passed out as my heart rate doubled with the test dose. 2nd attempt went just fine.
Next couple of hours I just waited to dilate. By noon I was 9cm and feeling all the pressure in my bum to push. But my doctor was closing up a c section. I did one practice push for the nurse and then nurse said to stop pushing because he was right there! Holding back from pushing was excruciating, it felt so much better to push thru it.
My dr arrived at about 12:35, I pushed for 4 minutes through only 2 contractions and Carter was born at 12:43 weighing 6 pounds 7 ounces!
He only lost 1 ounce by the next day and we went home! He's eating like a champ and I'm pretty suremy milk came in today. His big sister is crazy about him!
