CD 11 U/S ... Already ovulated or clomid failure???

So this month I took Clomid 50mg on days 2-6 for the first ever time.

I went to see my fertility specialist yesterday (CD 11) and had an u/sound.
The ultrasound showed no mature follicles, just one possible small corpus luteum (burst follicle with blood in it).
He said this means I have either ovulated very early , likely cd 8 or 9... or clomid has dont nothing for me at all.

I keep reading everywhere online that you cant ovulate until atleast 4 days after your last clomid tablet (although my dr said nothing of the sort). But im thinking its clomid failure because I never got any positive opks the last several days.
Another month wasted im sure.

But I'll see what he says about my bloodtest results (progesterone level) today. It will tell all i need to know.

Has this happened to any of you ladies?
Any early clomid ovulation stories? Or, any stories of late natural ovulation after failed clomid?

I'm going through a similar thing! Same dosage of Clomid. CD 9-NO follicles. CD 11 - 11mm follicle. CD-14 - Still 11mm. I'm so confused! How can Clomid not induce anything? I'm thinking if I ovulated already! Can anyone help please?
