Hello ladies I just thought that it would be interesting to know how everyone's experience was with the removal of there cerclage and how was it when you gave birth. I read that a lot of women have scar tissue and it prevents them from dilating properly. I m having mine removed in about two weeks so if you could please share your story that will ease my mind very much. Thank you ladies

I've had four sutures now and never had a problem with my cervix dilating during labour. I've even had one tear (I was in prem labour at the time) and it left scar tissue, my consultant said he could see it when he placed one of the sutures and even that's never caused any issues :)

What about when you got them removed? Did it hurt? Was there bleeding? How soon did you go into labor afterwards? Thank you for replying ;)

It hurts a little, but always found it more of an uncomfortable feeling than anything. I had some bloody discharge each time, but not full on bleeding. I went into labour prematurely with the first one so it was taken out when I started dilating, but the next three were taken out between 36-37 weeks and I went into labour anywhere between 39-41+ weeks! I think it does depend on how weak your cervix is, I think mine is at the stronger end of the scale!
