I skipped the cereal and started my baby on purees about 3 weeks ago. I thought cereal was like an introductory food before starting solids. Is that correct, or do u keep giving it even after they start purees? I've been reading that you should give it to bf babies because of the iron. Is that true? Does that mean I need to incorporate cereal in his diet or am I fine with the fruits and veggies we are doing?

You can try to give them cereal and see if they like it. My daughter hated it, so I threw it out and just went to the veggies and fruit. If you're worried about iron you can look up foods that are naturally high in iron and puree/try those too. :)

My daughter wasn't really a fan of cereal. Nor is she a fan of baby food. She ate baby food maybe for 3 months, then wasn't havin it as soon as she tasted real food :haha: . Like PP said, as long as you feed then something high in iron it should be fine. It's whatever your baby can tolerate or likes!
