I'm just learning the whole concept of cervical changes throughout the month. My periods have been inconsistant to say the least, but they are just starting to get back on track.

I'm 11dpo right now, and I have been checking my cervix in the shower in the mornings to see if there are changes. I'm not sure what I'm checking for though. I can feel the cervix. That part I understand. The last week, it's been closed, and high. Today, it's low and open. What does this mean? I'm about to get my period? Or, is it a sign of pregnancy? What would be the difference?

I don't chart, and I don't temp. I did do an OPK which was a blarring bfp on the 8th. I'm assuming I'm 11dpo now, right? I don't know.

Anyway, what does my cervix mean right now? Yesterday morning, high and closed. Today, low and open. Oh, and also last night, a glob of mucus (sorry tmi) came out of me. It was clear/yellow. Not sure if that has any significant meaning, but perhaps worth mentioning?

Cervical changes aren't set in stone so it's really not that great of a predictor. That being said, usually a high open cervix means ovulation and a low cervix means AF is coming. BUT cervical changes in both non pregnant and early pregnancy women don't really always follow those "rules".

Yup..i concur...there just isnt no way of telling by your cervix or your cm if you are pregnant or not. As for cm..tho it can change in consistency and color month to month...some women that find out they are pregrent find they have more cm then normal. Its not always the case so if you dont get extra cm..this doesnt mean you are not pregnant either. I wish our bellybuttons turned to an obvious color to indicate we were pregnant lol

LOL! Belly button color indicators! That would be interesting!

Ok, so why do so many people check the cervix then? Once someone ovulates, then what is the point afterward?

I guess it's a big fat waiting game, but until then....I'm gonna take a test! LOL!

Well..i think people check afterwords to get to know their body and see what is normal for them. Also..people like to find out for themselves if they notice a change or not. What I have noticed for myself in my past pregnancies was that my cervix would feel swollen to touch..not by sensatation but just the feel of it. Kind of the same as ovulation but only with it being closed. But everyone seems to experience something different..even in each pregnancy which is why you cant go by by your cervix.

Wouldnt it just be nice if everyone had to experience one particular symptom in order to be preg, for example your ear turns purple and if you dont get it then your defo not preg -just think of the ££ you'd save on preg tests

LOL! I wouldn't want me ear to change, but I do like the belly button idea. It's too bad some of the changes we have are so quiet, or don't show until later in pregnancy, you know?

Well, I just took a $tree test and it was a bfn. I also noticed a tiny ting of brown spotting, so I'm pretty sure I'm out.
