Hi there, I'm seriously considering changing Erin onto comfort because she gets really uncomfortable after feeding, writhing around, straightening her legs, hands in fists and bright red in the face. It doesn't last too long, but somethings obviously not agreeing with her. Gripe water doesn't work, and infacol makes her burp, but she still does this:shrug:

Just need advice from anyone who has changed from normal C&G to C&G Comfort.
Is it better to change all the feeds at once or introduce it gradually?

Thanks!

When I switched to it, I did alternate feeds for a couple of days. It means it's a bit less of a shock to the system, and means you can finish the tub of the old stuff.

I went straight over after finishing my last box. Jaden had the symptoms as your little one and got much better after moving to the comfort. Hope it works for you. x

Thanks for your replies, i'll get a box tomorrow and see how she gets on.

We've just bought our LO a box of this for the same reasons as you MrsSyd, did any of you have problems getting the formula to flow thru a number 2 Advant teat? It seems slightly thicker than the normal C&G.

Thanks xx

I was using level 1 TT teats before I switched, and then moved to variflow. When they fell apart (long story) I moved straight on to level 3 teats, and he was 3 months at the time.

I would say if you're using a level 2 teat now with a thinner formula, you'll probably need to go up to the next one for the comfort.

Me Me Me!!!!! i was hoping id see if anyone else had the same issue, i think we'll have to try the 3+teat as shes hardly getting any out!!! shes only 13 days old! ive spent a fortune on teats and bottles looks like i'll have to go up a size!

slightly different but hope its ok. I switched my lo from aptamal to aptamal comfort. both this and c and g are made at same place anyway. I just switched straight over. My lo was similar to yours except she cried in the night as well but is suffering with colic as well. I tried infacol and gripe water and neither worked. SO i chnaged straght over to comfort, didnt ease her in. She adjusted fine, certainly didnt make her worse. Plus its gets the formula built up inside her quicker. I also changed to dr brown bottels and use dentanox (similar to infacol except you add it to bottels) and she is totally happier and more seattled baby.

Thanks for that, you're right, I've tried Erin on the comfort formula today, and had to go to the TT size 3 teats, because she was struggling on the 2's.

This sounds just like the problems I've been having with Ralph and I changed over to Comfort and TT bottles to Dr.Browns - there's been a massive improvement, he is actually enjoying his feeds now and no more screaming during and after. What a relief! I switched straight over and there were no problems at all. Just fyi I use size 3 Dr.Browns teats. Good luck!

I changed from C&G to C&G comfort and it made no difference to my LO. Turns out she is lactose intollerant and has been put onto SMA LF.

If the colicy symptoms and screaming don't persist, I'd ask HV for advice and if she changes you to SMA, give it a go cos it makes the poop a bit heavier for them (TMI I know but my DD's nappies were almost pure liquid and it caused her such discomfort she was screaming alot of the time.) and if they still don't show signs of easing the discomfort, make an appointment with your GP, you may need a script for LActose free milk

BM xx
