im new to charting and on my first round of clomid...weve bd every day since about day 9 or 10........there is a dip in my chart but does that mean i have ovulated? or do you get dips without ovulation?
ive been using opks but they all have been negative
thanks for your help
xx

While below your coverline, dips can either mean you are in the process of ovulating or they can be random events. I would BD today and tomorrow just to be sure. I always make sure I have 2 high temps, 2 mornings in a row before I stop BD'ing. But I wouldn't worry to much, at least every other day is good.

I've noticed with my chart 99% of the time I will get temp drop the day of ovulation. I too wait until my temp is up for 2 days before I relax on the BDing!
Can't wait to see how your first month of charting goes for you!!! :) Hopefully your last month you'll need to worry about it ;)

thanks both you guys......this is my first month of charting so trying to get my head round it....so basically after a dip you need at least two days of a higher temperature? otherwise it could just be a random dip?
i really want to get the hang of temping - it seems quite addictive!
xx

Yes but a higher temp then one you've had in the past 6 days.
For example, this: 97.5, 97.6, 97.6, 97.3, 98.1, 98.2
Not: 97.5, 97.6, 97.6, 97.3, 97.8, 97.7

There's a great book that tells you how to temp, called: Taking control of your fertility, by Toni Weschler, I highly recommend it:

i see...thanks so much for your help....its really useful! x

It def. takes a little while to understand and get to know your body and the temps. After a while it's fun to see the pattern that your body has every single month. I also like it because it warns me that AF is on her way a day or 2 ahead of time because my temps start to fall and then I'm not so let down when AF shows her UGLY face.
Once you are used to your temps you'll know what your normal temps are and that some dips are just normal and mean nothing and you'll learn which dips/spikes mean something. Again though, hopefully you're not temping long enough to have to learn all this! Bring on your BFP :)
