Hi,

M 26yrs old,TTC frm 2 yrs.
Have PCOS.
Tried 6 rounds of clomid with IUI but no luck(conceaived in 2nd round of clomid but miscarried @8 weeks)

So Dr finally prescribed me Metformin as I m not taking any fertility medication need break.

I purchased Chasteberry Vitex by reading about it on google.
Today is my CD28...shall i start taking vitex frm today?
Its GNC Chasteberry Vitex extract 500 mg.

Any suggestion appreciated...Thanks...baby dust.

I think that you can start vitex anytime in your cycle. It can take awhile for it to work sometimes. I took it for three months but was too impatient to continue. Lol. But I heard it can take six months to a year to have an affect. Depends on the person I guess. I hope it works for you!

I started taking Fertilaid, which has Vitex as a main ingredient, three weeks ago. I have had one large persistent 5 cm ovarian cysts for the past 4 months that has not shown any signs of shrinking in size. After my second Clomid round, they found a second 5 cm cyst and I may have to have surgery in a few months if they don't go away on their own. These are follicular cysts from the eggs not releasing properly.

I've read that cysts are caused by low progesterone and that vitex can help raise it.

After taking it for three weeks, I found that AF was delayed by three days so I know it is doing something, but I guess it remains to be seen whether it is doing anything good for me.

I did take Fertilaid before I conceived my dd nearly three years ago. Back then I took a three month supply and did not notice any changes to me or my cycle whatsoever. I stopped taking it because I thought it didn't work, but in hindsight, I did get a bfp the next month. I had been trying for 8 months. Now I'm wondering if it was the Fertilaid/Vitex

hey gals....its been 2 months m on Metformin and 1 month on Vitex....and got 30 days cycle for twice since started Metformin...unbelievable...bcoz It never happened 2 me b4. But am I ovulating?
In past I tried 6 clomid round with ovulation with no luck....dont know now what to do

Do you chart? The only way to know for sure if you're ovulating is if you're charting your bbt.

yes dear ....m charting from last 3 months...
Chart of 3 months
1....30days cycle with clomid & other medication,sonogram shows ovulation
2....30days cycle with only metformin1500+ vitex
3.....30 days cycle with only metformin 1500 + vitex

temp charts r almost same with little difference.

But m going to use OPK this month...but will it work for me bcoz of PCOS...or will get false?
Or...it will be better to have progestrone checked(blood work)?

Do you have a link to your chart? It sounds like you're ovulating and your cycles are pretty regular for the last three months.

You can try opks but I did read that you might get false positives if you have pcos. But I have seen them to be accurate for people with pcos. It's worth a shot. If you can have bloodwork done that would be the most accurate results. But I would just bd every other day anyways to cover your bases. Opks don't work for everyone either.

Its good if I am ovulating.
But my worry is.....I also had ovulated on clomid but no pregnancy 4 times....and no issues with male partner....also we BD regularly....so dont understand wats going wrong?
Are my Fello Tubes closed or my eggs r not good.....m confused bcoz I had 1 miscarriage(clomid cycle)...so I think my tubes r fine.
Also afraid of surgery.
But this month I will try to use both options OPK & blood work.
Also started exercise from last 2 months..walk for 60 minutes.

But I want 2 thank u once again for ur reply & time....though we dont know each other.

I'm not sure why you're not getting pregnant, have you talked to your dr about that? I know sometimes fertility medicines can make your cm more hostile for sperm. Are you taking anything to increase cm like fertile cm or evening primrose? That could be one reason why it's taking so long. What cycle day are you on now? I'm starting my second cycle of clomid. I'm taking them cd3-7 instead of 5-9 like last cycle.

My Dr(Infertility specialist) is aware of all this that m ovulating(on medication) but not able to conceive.
Today is CD 5.Medication m taking : Metformin & Vitex.
Will request for blood work to check ovulation.
Definitely will search about CM nd evening promise oil.Thanks

one update...had progestrone checked on CD20...its 11.
My Dr says its ovulation but weaker....wat do u think gals is 11 weak?
