Ok, I'm not one to post a lot of questions but now that it seems as though my fertile days are approaching, I'm curious to know which position my cervix is in. I know it's going to be hard being that I never check my cervix but we DTD the other night and DH said he felt like he was hitting something. Must've been my cervix. I'm dying to know if it's risen up or if it's still low. So, my question is, can someone PLEASE explain to me how to check my cervix the right way?? Thank you.

Okay your cervix feels like a little ball the size of maybe a nickel (but a sphere). You need it to be SHOW, soft, high, open, wet. When it is soft, it feels like your lip, when it's hard it feels like the tip of your nose. Since you've had kids your cervix is probably almost always open. When it's open, you can feel a little opening or a dent. It will also be right up front where your put your finger you won't have to push back. The cervix opening moves and that's how you can tell whether it's open or closed. If it's high you might barely be able to reach it or not at all.

Just sit down or stand up and just feel around in there. Feel for something shaped like a ball! If it's soft you may have a harder time finding it

Thank you so much. :) I'm going to try right now...eww..lol..

Sorry if that was hard to understand lol! I should have wrote that better :haha: It may take some practice, but I hope you find it!

Haha, no I understood it! thank you so much. I'm going to check in a little bit.

I feel like my cervix is in all kinds of positions. Sometimes its pointed towards the back, sometimes towards the front. And then sometimes I worry that checking it will disrupt all the CM and sperm that have stuck on there after BD'ing...

This cycle I'm leaving my cervix alone and relying on good old fashion OPK's and temps. Hehe...

Hi Taylorxx,

Have come across your posts several times on here since ive joined! recognise you by your pic!) Prob time to say hi!

Can you also tell me, (as you seem to know what your talking about in this department, ha ha) I checked my cervix a day or so ago... not really sure what pos should be at what stages... I suspected I ovulated early this month (poss a week early - usually 5 week cycle but occasionally 4- 4.5)anyway, I would have guessed going by my CM that i was poss a day or so after ovulaition, and my cervix felt clearly hard and easy to reach at the front... would this timing be right? Can you explain to me where your cervix should be at what stages please? xx ta xxx

Hello :flower: It's really hard to go by cervix to figure out where you are in your cycle. It can vary greatly. During ovulation it should be SHOW, or soft, high, open, and wet. Usually after ovulation it goes low and hard.. but it really changes throughout the whole cycle. Mine is sometimes SHOW during the two week wait after I've already ovulated. It's best not to go by cervix to figure out when you ovulate, but to use it as a guide. I suggest using OPKs and/or temping to figure out when you ovulate. Hope you're having a great weekend! :hugs:

Ah, thank you..

I have begun to consider the OPK's, and figured if im unsuccessful this month, then i'll invest in some for next!!

Do you use them?

I usually manage to go by my CM and ovulation pain, but this month ive been a bit confused as symptoms havent been so clear cut and the symptoms i have had, havent come at the times i was expecting, so think thats why ive started to think about looking at CP. I just hope it's not a case of NO ovulation.... patience is not my greatest skill. xx

Yes I use them and I also chart BBT. I find charting BBT helps the most, but it cannot predict ovulation, only tell you exactly when and if you ovulated. I don't have clear cut ovulation symptoms either, they usually last for a week too so it's hard to go by symptoms for me. If you're regular then chances are you ovulate every cycle :) xx

cervix position changes all the time, like when you do a poo! so it's not very reliable!

Glad i read this as I just posted this question well asked where it is lol! X
