what do you reckon??:flower:

far as i know its more popular in the us, have already sort of agreed as dh loves it. not sure why but just don't feel 100% iykwim?
my problem is that we are only about 30 mins away from the actual place and i'm worried everyone will presume thats where he was conceived (he wasn't)!!!!!

is it a nice name? i'm 10 days over due today so could do with making a decision :haha::haha:

Ah bless I bet you just want him out of you!!! Yeah I like the name chester but i am the same as you live only 20 mins away in northwich, cheshire so does seem a bit weird as most people have heard of it where you live. Davina McCall has a son called Chester. x

I, personally, would not. I will forever associate the name with Chester the Molester, from my childhood, but if you like it, go for it!

yeah can't wait now lol

really, never realised that, i'll have to have a look if there's any others with it too!.

thanks :flower:

Personally not fond of Chester -- First reference that comes to mind is Chester Cheetah & now the second is Chester the Molester after reading the above post :dohh:

Sorry! :flower: :hugs:

It's not a very common name in the US.

I recently heard the name Chesley & thought that was cool! It's the name of a hero pilot who successfully landed a crashing plane on the Hudson River & saved hundreds of lives! Cool name!

Agree, it is not very common in the US right now. I think it was more common in the 40's/50's? It reminds me of the Hardy Boys character, Chet. =) It's cute, though.

i LOVE this name :flower:...only I live IN Chester so no chance of us using it :dohh:

Sorry, I have to agree. Kids are cruel and I went to school with "Chester the Molester". Poor guy got picked on a lot.

I'm in the US and I've never met someone named Chester... And I agree. The first thing that came to my mind was that old saying "chester the molester".

I live in Crewe so I did think of the place when you said Chester, but that's no bad thing. A lot of names are after places :)

Well, to me it sounds like a very old man. One of our presidents from another century was Chester A. Arthur. But it may sound better in the UK? However anything that rhymes with "molester" is probably a no-go. Do you like Charles? It's sortof similar but sounds nicer to me. Or is it too common or too political?

I have to agree with some of the ladies here...the first thing that came to my mind was "Chester the Molester". Sorry hun...but if you love the name, go with it.

thanks everyone i really appreciate your replies:flower:

tbh i'd never even heard of chester the molester, had a look on google eughhh!!!

13 days overdue today and migt be back to the drawing board, i'm just not sure:shrug:

thanks:flower:

Me either never heard of chester the molester going to google it now!! Is it an american thing?? x

My OH is obsessed with the name Chester, but I have to agree with everybody else.

When I mentioned it to my family, the first thing they all did was laugh and say "chester the molester".

A few days later my eleven year old brother text me..."What if he is a hairy teenager...he'll have a hairy chester..."

And we've just found out our neighbours dog is called Chester. Back to the drawing board for us!

My husbands grandfather was Chester and he is insisting that our child be Chester too...I am not crazy about the name (chester cheeto dude, chester the molester etc.) BUT I will only agree to the name if he can go my Ches which I think is sorta cute...glad you posted this

i like the name Chester :) i live nowhere near Chester so dont really associate it with the place and also never heard of chester the molester!!!

Yep live close to chester so it just made me open the thread due to that! never heard of the molester thing tho! Not sure on it as a name?

Not too fond of it, reminds me of a cartoon character when I say it... Maybe as a middle name?
