child benefits - when do you receive them?

my little lady is almost 12 weeks old and i haven't had any child benefit yet.
we applied abit late, because she was registered late. and then i received a letter a few weeks back saying i'd be receiving benefits on the fourth week of every month and that what i was owed would go into my account shortly. but i still haven't had anything. when does it usually go in?

Mine started to go in a couple of days before I recieved the letter. I would wait until monday and check again - If its not in give them a ring and see whats happened x

Mine went in a couple of days before i got the letter, id check your bank again monday

The 1st time claiming these can take upto 8wks til 1st payment is recieved far as i know, But if already claiming them its much quicker.

You'll get a letter stating exactly how much you will be getting & when & how often. How old was your lil girl when u registered her?

I registered jax on a thursday & sent off his birth cert the same day, the following thursday i recieved his birth cert back, that friday i was paid child benefit owed for him & then every tuesday i started getting the £13.20 due for him when my other sons went in. So i get it every tuesday now

It took a while for mine to go in too. Give them a ring if you're worried

I think mine took about 8 days between me sending in the form and getting a payment. I got ££ 4 days before I got the letter.

With my eldest i can rememeber waiting over 8 weeks as it was a new claim ( over 12 yrs ago). I know i waited a long time as i had over 100 pounds backdated.
With my other two its been dealt with so quick theyve not needed to backdate, i think i had 2 payments in one week for Nieve and then paid on Tuesday as normal with other twos x
