Child tax credits help!

Hi i am filling in the essay they call claiming child tax credits but the guide they give is absolute shite and i dont wanna call the 0845 number they supply for help as your always on hold so wonder if anyone can help me!

What do you have to supply when sending your child tas credits application as it doesn't say? Do you need like childs birth cert any proof of address? My child benefit hasn't come through yet so i dont have a ref number could i not supply a birth cert to confirm this? Is there anything else i need to send off?

Hiya hun...tbh i can't remember exactly but im sure i sent my sons birth certificate...not sure with which paperwork though So dont count me on it!! Maybe you could have a look online on their website and see if they tell you on there...if not get back to me...after 6pm i get free calls to 0845 numbers so i can hold for you for as long as they want me to... i can enquire for you

I didn't send anything I don't think. You need to put your Child Benefit reference number on though.

You don't need to send a birth certificate.

I know calling is a pain but you can actually start the claim on the phone. (At least that way you get money from the time you called rather than when they receive the form).

Maybe Lady could ask them to call you back?

Thanks for the offer tho i finally called them, my friend has the same thing with bt with the free 0845 calls so i called from there! As i didnt have child benefit ref they said send the form off anyway to get the ball rolling then they'd write to me asking what they wanted !
