My daughter is 8 days old.
She is bottle feed and is feeding 3oz to 4oz every 3-4 hours. She was having 3oz but she was looking for more after an hour and a half so I made up 4oz and she drinks that.
Problem is she seems to be choaking on the milk. She drinks a bit and then splutters so much it scares me. I calmly pat her back and rub it but sometimes it's so scary.

I'm using avent bottles, obviously the newborn 1 teat

Has anyone else had the same problem?

I used to, my LO is just generally a guzzler :)

maybe feed her in a more upright position? like anything they have to learn the skill of using the bottle- she will get better i promise :D

I was having that issue also and if my daughter wasn't choking then half of what she was getting from the nipple was running down her chin. I'm using Dr. Brown's bottles and I went and got their "preemie nipples" and that helped a lot. She still did choke and dribble some but after a few days she got the hang of it.
