Christening Decoration Ideas?! :D

My little one's christening is at the end of this month, and we're going all out! He only gets one right!. We've booked a very classy function room at a hotel not too far from the church. They're organising the food but I have to go down and decorate it accordingly in the morning.

Ideas? I've got a very gorgeous 3 tier cake coming, expensive but worth it for the centre piece!

I'm thinking balloons... Banners... Blue tableclothes for the food/cake stand tables. Im just thinking it might look a little bare? Family have suggested pictures around but I think it'd be tacky for such a classy place. x

i had a yellow duck theme and a bit of blue in our garden.

i took some pics of him in yellow and blue and printed then laminated them and cut into small squares and put them all down the tables, i also put some colourful sprinkles on the tables and made some vases, basically they were normall glass ones and i put blue or yellow stones in and tied yellow tulle round them, some had ducks in, some had floating candles, some pics of the baby.
we gave muffins with yellow icing to the guests and the cake was made with yellow icing.
it took months to organise and it was the best time of my life, i had loads of fun doing it all!
the most important thing is to find a theme and work with that! i just looked for yellow or ducks everywhere and everything fell together

Yeah what about a little sweetie buffet? my friend does them all different colour themes and they do look fab and fill out a table but you can still make them look classy too, so you could have a blue themed one, get different blue sweets and put them in little glass bowls with some scoops and paper bags and some ribbon, or you could get some sweet trees made they look pretty nice too!

I love those ducks! So stunning. So, I've got balloons on the way, two cakes now... Cupcakes Im making. I've got banners, wall pieces. Its in a function room so they control the lighting. Got some blue table covers on the way, just need to sort out some party favours and perhaps some baggies for the kids! x
