I'm hoping to attempt my own Christmas pudding this year. When is it best to make it?

Oh I'd like to know this too ladies? Anyone? Xxx

I'm not sure entirely but I'm sure you need to start it early to infuse the alcohol and fruit.

Think stir up Sunday! 5 weeks before christmas :)

Agree stir it up Sunday for pudding. It's the last Sunday before the start of advent.

Your Christmas cake should be made by the end of October ideally.

Thank ladies gonna give it a bash this year. Xxx

Never ever tried it before  what does it actually taste like? And is there a huge difference in homemade and shop bought?

Oh my goodness it is absolutely amazing!! Like so amazing I gain possibly 4lbs just by looking at it lol. It Id an iquired taste for sure lol. Lots of raising and stuff but lovely.

Never made my own but going to try it this year

We have ours on Christmas night with brandy cream over it and warmed up. Delish!!

September or October is when my dad's always done it. Then you "feed" it with brandy every couple of weeks until Christmas :D

Christmas pudding is the one thing I always make It tastes so much better than shop bought

I always use delia smith recipe - old school like my mother !!
