Chubbier brides & dresses?

We're not even officially engaged yet but we've started making plans already and I've found the type of dress I want. I don't want to look like an idiot though! I googled the perfect dress for my shape and it said not to go for the kind I want

Think I might go on a major diet!!

So what kind of dress are you going for and have you tried it on?

Have whatever dress you want and feel great in! have you tried any dresses on yet? because some dresses that I thought I really liked looked so bad on me!

my dress is something I never thought I'd carry off, being short and having quite big boobs for my frame, it's detailled, has a train and is strapless, all the things I didn't think would suit me. They look so different on the peg, I'd recommend trying on as many as poss.

I can't wait! We should have the money for the ring in the next couple of months, then I just have to wait for him to pop the question, then it'll feel right trying them on!! I'm soooo excited!!!

I had my eyes on a high fishtail one and she had just about fastened it and I was like "No take it off, I look weird!"

hahaha im sure you looked lovely. Depends on your body shape & how you carry yourself not your size!!! I have an hour glass figure but im a size 16 and VERY curvy i have massive G cup boobs and i felt a million dollars in that dress!!

You love it now- you wait untill you start trying dresses on, you'll love them all!!!! No offence but that dress makes the model look really short dont know if they've altered the pic to fit or something. Anyway you dont need to go to a specialist shop with all gowns a plus size, most designers do up to a size 32!!! So I think you'll be just fine. Have what ever you want in whatever shop xxxxxxxxx

Yeah try on lots, things you think you would never like look totally different off the hanger

I wanted a big poofy dress with lots of detail and in the end I never got it, I got quite a sleek simple one in a completely different shape to what I imagined

Also when you get your dress they do adjust it to your shape so anything would look fine

Try not to worry hun just get what you feel comfortable in. You'll be wearing it all day & looking at the photos forever so you need to make sure you're happy with it.
