Long story short-- I've been on the lowest dose of clomid for three months, followed by a one month break before my doctor started me on femera. I did ovulate each month I was on something. The doctor is an OBGYN who is know to have a lot of success with fertility as well- she was recommended to me by my family doctor. I now have an appointment with a fertility specialist to ask more questions and get a second opinion. However until my appointment I didn't want to do nothing for. Month.

Before clomid or any meds I never had a lot of spotting before my period and my cycles have always been irregular. The longer I've been on these meds the longer my cycles get and more spotting I get.

Last month I spotted about 5 days before a heavy period for another 4-5 days. Since I've never really spotted before a period I had no problems figuring out what day 1 should be. This doctor told me day 1 should be the first sign of blood including any sign of spotting.

So I've been afraid I've messaged up my months just trying to label my days. Some months I've counted the spotting (and the spotting has been different too) and some months I've counted the full on bleeding. Last month when I started day 1 (spotting) and when it was time to start BD I was bleeding so heavy (what I counted as CD 10-12).

My husband is a big researcher and he read on a fertility website that CD 1 should be your full on period and not to count the spotting. But I'm confused because I asked my dr several times and they made it clear to count he spotting.

This is something I definitely plan on talking to the fertility specialist about but in the mean time does anyone have any recommendations? I'm supposed to start clomid on CD3--- which is today if I count my first spotting as CD1, if not I'm on CD33. Last month spotting also started on CD30. But what is weird about the spotting this month is its not consistent. I had visible spotting on my panty liner after two workouts, but nothing when I wipe or in between workouts, as I normally do. I'm not pregnant, I've taken 2 tests and I've also had some cramping, which I get before my period.

I'm so lost!

I always count my first day with full flow as day 1. That does seem to be the general consensus.

In general the first day of flow counts as your period.

I started clomid this cycle and my fertility specialist said full flow is day 1.
