Hi
Have ben ttc for 1 year going for lap on thurs query endo
fertility appt on 17th should I ask for clomid? I do ovulate according to bloods and cm signs but is there any benefit in taking clomid to kick start cuz of my age I will be 41 in Dec?
Anyone any ideas/experiences x

I hope your lap goes ok on Thurs - I have mine next Tues and I'm feeling quite nervous...

I don't know if this will help but my hosp put me on clomid this month before the lap. I ovulate and have regular cycles, so they are trying clomid as you hopefully produce more follicles / eggs so have a greater chance each cycle. I guess if the lap is clear, clomid could help increase your chances each cycle - and who doesn't want that! You should ask the hospital what they think I guess? As far as I know, its only safe to have 6 cycles on clomid, so you have to make the most of it.

Good luck with everything...

x

thanks babychristie
the fertilty doc said at last appt he wouldn't give me treatment for anything cuz there was nothing wrong but i think i will push him to try clomid
i am really nervous bout lap but will try to post my experience for you before tues if i have any tips etc
hopefully both of us will get BFP for 2010 x

Thanks - it will really help to find out what happens. I definitely think you should push on the clomid. I am 34 but have a history of early menopause in my family which can start at young as 36 so my specialist is keen to help me as quickly as possible. Even if there is nothing wrong it could just be the thing to tip the balance and get you the :bfp: more quickly?

Not sure if you've seen this but I'm using this to help me prepare for my lap: https://www.endo-resolved.com/laparoscopy_advice.html Might help??

Wishing you all the best and hope all goes well.

x

Hi
Well i had my lap and dye on thurs-not too bad-didn't throw up afterwards but i did ask for lots of the stuff to stop me being sick. Very crampy for the first few hours. no idea what they found as i was the last one and the doc went home and the nurses couldn't read his writing-great eh!!
All the nurse knew was that i had no cysts small amount of endo but nothing significant and something about my left tube adhered to wass but couldn't read the rest. I have asked the doc's sec to fax the theatre notes to my GP and will ask when I get stitches out on tues-not impressed needless to say.
one tip the nurse gave me-ask for pain relief before you leave recovery otherwise the nurses will have to look for a doc to wrtie you up foe some and that may take ages.
all the best for your procedure-you will be fine xx

Thanks for popping back with the update. Nightmare that the doc had to leave, but it does sound like it was mostly positive with the little you do know. Any idea when they will be able to get back to speak to you properly? I sometimes wonder if the medical staff have any idea how emotional this all is for us and how they can do things that unsettle us on top of everything else! I hope you hear the proper review very soon.

I am really apprehensive - partly about the surgery, pain etc but mostly about what they will find. But, I know its a positive step so am trying to keep focused on that.

I hope you feel a bit better by now and that the pain has mostly gone. Finding a little bit of endo might actually be a good thing if they managed to treat it during the op - if that was what was causing the problems, you could be just a few steps away from that BFP now, fingers X!!

Take care of yourself for a few more days

xx

Dont worry bout the pain -it really isn't that sore! I think my stitches in belly button are infected-how r u meant to clean them anyway it disappears into my stomach lol
I am going to fertility doc tomorrow and the sec said she would e-mail the results to him and let him tell me-what r the chances of those notes ever reaching him on time or ever?? failing that I will ring my gp and ask him to let me know.
aparently ther was a little bit of endo but as it was small he didn't bother treating it??? more concerned bout this left tube and if it is functional or not
Anyway you will be fine-the nurses and theatre staff were brill just make sure you speak to the doc or have someone who will for you before you are sent home good luck xx

Hi GlitterQueen - did you get any more info from your clinic? I hope they are treating you a bit better and you know a bit more now.

I'm still recovering after my lap on Tues evening. I'm pretty sore and still feel really groggy / sick, I guess from the anaesthetic? Hopefully I'll feel better soon. I had mixed news - moderate endometriosis but mostly old scarring and a large patch on my bowel, but not something they can remove. I'd need to see a specialist in another part of the country. My right tube is stuck to a wall too, but I don't know what that means. Both tubes are open so they said I could possibly conceive naturally / with clomid but are advising we go for IVF as the quickest way to get pregnant and keep the endo at bay. We have a meeting on 7th Dec when we'll find out timescales etc. It's all still sinking in to be honest.

Anyway, fingers crossed for you and hope you have good news soon.

Hi
I am sure you are glad its all over! I got stitches out on tue but my belly button is infected so got antibiotics today-yuck!
FS said that I had a very small patch of endo but so small he didn't even treat it! My left tube is stuck to my wall.ovary and pelvis but the dyd still went through. He said if I was 30 he would just say keep trying cuz there is no reason why it isn't happening but cuz I am 40 its IVF so we are in the process of choosing a clinic but still hoping it will happen naturally x
my head is buzzing with all the decisions so I am heading out today for some retail therapy just to get out of the house-still wearing leggings as my jeans hurt. I must be desperate the weather here is really bad but sure it doesn't rain in shopping centres lol
hope you feel better soon-travel sickness tabs are good for the queasy feeling!
