Clomid - ever heard of this?

Just wondering if anybody has had this...

My 3rd round of clomid failed to make me ovulate , and so I had a scan about CD42 to see what was going on in there as I had no AF.

At the scan, the consultant told me that although clomid didn't work, my own cycle had taken over and there was a big follicle there and that I would ov in a few days!

Ever heard of this, just sounds a bit strange to me. My body is so complicated

Really?? Do you think that may have happened to me too? When I went for my cd12 scan, the follicle wasnt big enough so then I went later like cd 16 and there was no follicle (maybe missed it?) so they thought I had already ovulated and I didnt get a trigger jab....but now hasnt come and test was a :BFN: so I dont know whats going on in there either.

I'm also on my 3rd cycle of clomid.

Ive just had the same
clomid round 2 failed to make me ovulate, even though i was sure I had!
No AF so had blood tests cd40+ which showed I had only just then ovulated. Another blood test further along told him AF was on her way..AF arrived cd57!

Must be more common than I thought.

I went for a CD10 scan but it was also too early, and couldn't go any later as i was on holidays.
I asked the consultant why this might happen, and he said that after a few months the clomid builds up in ur body and stops working. He said the 150mg should do the job, but that I have lots of other options if it doesn't.

oh great now clomid isnt working....it would kill me to have another really really longcycle...i was only just starting to have 31 day cycles

I had an instance on Clomid about a year ago, where I didn't O until very late in the cycle, it was only out of curiosity that I did a OPK so late as I had mild cramping which felt different to AF cramps - and low and behold a + OPK. I never found out why though...

I did 5 rounds of Clomid and ovulated once. (All resulted in 's) My doc told me at the time that some people's systems just do not respond to Clomid. Maybe it threw your system a bit out of wack if you DO ovulate normally so that is why you O'ed late. If you do not ovulate regularly, maybe if just was not a strong enough dose and your body just had a extra long cycle.

Hey steph,

I see a different consultant for every scan, just whoever is available for the early morning scan clinic.

But I did have the dishy doc last week - that man is friggin gorgeous!! I was so embarrassed that I was lying there with my legs akimbo and this delicious man was standing inspecting me lol

My hubby wasn't even there to save my blushes! But on a serious note, I found him to be the most helpful doc so far, was really glad I got him last week coz I had 4000 questions to ask and generally you're not given the time of day in that place.
