Hi ladies,

I started my first round of clomid 50mg this month. I'm on cd22 today and still no sign of ovulation. I've been using opks everyday but not even close to positive and tracking bbt for the first time so if anyone wants to have a look, because it's anew to me.

I'm going for my cd21 blood test tomorrow and I am prepared for them to tell me it didn't work but has anyone ever ovulated later on clomid?

My cycles are crazy long without anything - I don't want to sound negative but I'm feeling so down about it now

Thanks for any information xx

Sometimes it can take more than the 50mg to kick your ovulation into drive. They start you out on the lowest mg because over doing it will actually inhibit ovulation rather than promote it. I know that the first round is a killer. There are lots of women (on their first round of Clomid) that have very very late ovulation. Don't give up just yet. If ovulation doesn't occur then your doc will probably bump you up to 100mg. You will know if you ovulated and just missed it in the next week or two.

My first round of Clomid my cycle was 30... so just hang in there.

Thanks.

It was just one of those days yesterday but I'm not feeling so bad today. :)

Does anyone know, if I didn't ovulate this cycle will AF come anyway or will I need to go back on the provera to start a period? This is all new to me x

Do you normally ovulate on your own or are you taking clomid to help you ovulate? It may be that you need a higher dose next round if this one didn't work.
I did my first round of clomid this month with 50mg ,I do ovulate on my own though. They did blood tests from CD9(I ovulate each month CD10-11) to see my oestrogen and other levels, it was quite high on that day so they got me in for a blood test the following day and ANOTHER blood test and ultrasound on CD11.
I needed a trigger shot as my levels just kept going up and up and it looked like I wasn't releasing the eggs I had ready, so maybe that's what you needed?

Miana- from what I understand Clomid is not given to women who ovulate on their own or regularly. For me is wasn't ovulating at all.

Laully- if the Clomid 50mg did indeed work you should naturally start your period (again from what I understand) between 28-34 cycle days. Have you been using OPKs everyday twice a day? (I'm nuts and start the day after my period stops) Normally the best time is at 2pm... don't ask me why...and then again at night around 10.

miana- I am very irregular between 35-90 day cycles. I know I do ovulate sometimes because I did get pregnant the end of last year but had a MC. That was using vitex and after trying for about 1 1/2 years. The only monitoring I am having is CD21 test, about the trigger as I'm in the uk not sure its used on the NHS.

Rosie- I have been trying to take opks about twice a day but only managed once most days and because of work its usually around 5.30pm and either with FMU or before bed if i remember. I hope I don't have to take provera again, I hated it!

I did take an OPK when i got home today and its much darker than it has been - very nearly positive. Ill take another when I get back home!! :)

Not usually you're right :) but we're heading towards the "unexplained fertility" explanation so this is a step our doctor has suggested before we LEAP to IVF......which I'm still not sure I want to do yet?

Phoned today and cd21 test was negative as expected but they are going to retest cd28. Thanks for the info and good luck to you both! :)

Miana-well hopefully it doesn't come down to that. I know if I don't get my BFP by the end of October we'll start IVF. Fortunately I have insurance that covers everything, which surprised me.

Laully- darker is a positive sign!! Maybe you didn't miss your surge! My OPK I took at 2:30 was darker by a lot compared to the last few days but not close enough to be almost positive maybe a day or two yet...but then again I'm only cd-10

Forgot to mention that I was told never to use FMU with OPKs... doc didn't explain why just warned me against it.

Ooh that's good to know - I took the first one at 5.30pm which was almost positive but they are now getting even lighter.

I'm sure I felt ovulation pain - never felt before but it was on one side in that area so I'm sure it was and I had the smallest amount of spotting yesterday. I also had a temperature dip that day and have had 2 days of increased temps.
I'm thinking and hoping that I just missed the surge by not testing until the evening.

Hi! I'm on my 2nd round of Clomid. 100mg CD 3-7. My CD 21 test last month on 50mg was only 15. The OB told me it was good, but not great so we decided to up the dose. I'm praying for a better CD 21 result and for that sticky bean!
As far as the later OPKs mine changed from CD 14 to CD 15 last month. This month is CD 15/16. I already have a short LP so if it doesn't work this month we're taking a break to see if I go back to 14.

Good luck to you and lots of baby :dust:

Any news yet in the mean of AF?

No news from me. But according to FF and my temps I'm 6dpo So that makes sense with the almost positive opk. I had my blood taken today so I'll have the results tomorrow. Getting anxious now

Can't wait to hear the results! I just got my first ever positive OPK yesterday :) Unfortunately the hub is on his work week so there won't be an BDing (unless I can bully it out of him, but whats the fun in that?)... I'm starting to wonder why I even spend the money on attempting to get pregnant if he's never around for his part :/

Yay! At least you have a positive it's a good sign.
It's a shame about your OH, do you think he could be persuaded as a one off today? I've got my fingers crossed for you! Good luck xx :hugs:

My result was 6.2 on cd23, do you know what they expect it to be?

If mine comes back negative tomorrow (cd30) I'll be going up to 100mg. I have extremely long cycles usually so they thought it may take a little longer with me so hopefully it's worked, I definitely had the signs!

Good luck, hope that 100mg works for you! :hugs:

Well I got to DTD in Saturday night around 11pm. Got my first positive OPK Sunday @ 11am. Got another positive @ 11am and 2 pm today :) We tried to BD this morning but OH was clearly feelingthe pressure and couldn't preform. .hehe poor man ;) I got permission to wake him up when I head to bed tonight to get some action :) Either way I'm not stressing anymore what's the point? I try all I want but its in God's hands.
