clomid just a lil question ..

hi ladies .. i was just wondering how many of u ladies that had taken clomid had ovulated after starting it and how many had actually got pregnant after takin this ...

i ask because i'm 23, never ovulated on my own and therefor never had af without meds i have just started clomid this cycle and the gyno has started me on 50mg and i am hoping so much that i will get pregnant on these 3 cycles of clomid as otherwise i may be out... gyno also said if i didn't ovulate on 50mg next cycle he will up it to 100mg....

I am on my 5th round of clomid... No luck yet

I know several people who have been very successful with clomid. My best friend conceived twins after her second round.

thanks i just get so worried that my chances of ever having my own child would be next to none i am remaining possitive tho .... i also think i am a little impatient hehe

Hi kissy,

Don't want to put a downer on your optimism but if you've never had AF or ovulated on your own, I would say chances of clomid 50mg working for you might be quite slim. I took 50mg, 100mg and 150mg and didn't even ovulate.

Of course your doctor has to start you on the lowest dose possible and I hope I'm wrong about your chances, but I am a clomid pessimist after 5 cycles! My consultant told me clomid only works on people with the most basic problems, and yours doesn't sound basic.

But don't panic! There are loads of other options to help you ovulate, clomid is just the beginning where everybody starts.

thanks mrs R ... i remain open minded about clomid working for me the gyno reckon my pituitary gland just needed a kick start .. it's hard as he seems to give me hope as he drops in that he's been a gyno for 30 years and that he's seen this (meaning my issue) all 2 many times and so he's confident that i'll at least ovulate with clomid ...

i'm over weight which i don't think helps but saying that my mum is bigger than me and managed to conceive 6 children suppose every women is different just gotta wait and see .....

i see this struggle as a possitive thing tho as had i got pregnant straight away i wouldn't have such a great understanding as i do now ..

i tried lookin on the net at the stats but its all 2 easy for them to put it into numbers i prefer the real life accounts as how clomid affected women xx

I have several friends who have started to ov on 50mg, who didnt ovulate before and I see no reason why you shouldnt. Very often its the kick start you need. I am sure there are many women in the clomid club post in the same situation - maybe ask your question in there also??

Its 100% to start on the lowest dose.

thanks for the advice hun and i'm on my way to ask them all x i understand i have to be started on the lower dose i just fear that it won't work at all for me i just need to learn to relax a little i think xx

clomid got me pg the first two times but with crap hormone levels, so I m/c'd. since then, I've not ovulated on it (11 cy total), but have infrequently ovulated naturally. you really wont know til you try.
