Hi  I saw my Dr. in November and he gave me the OK to start my Clomid round. I don't have AF on my own, so he was just going to allow me to start without inducing one (said my lining was fine to do so). A few days after my appt. I got sick, then my kids got sick, hubby... then the Christmas holidays and then we got sick all over again! Now it's January. Would it be fine you think to just start now? Without another appt? The appointments cost me a bit over $300 a go so would rather not. I'd schedule a follow up scan of course once I'm done the Clomid.

We hope to TTC first week of Feb!

If there is a chance you are already pregnant then don't take it but if not I would go for it.

I haven't been preventing but I have been testing nearly every day for ovulation / pregnancy and always negative.

Tough call! I've always taken 7-10 days of progesterone to bring on AF before starting. I think if you're sure you aren't pregnant then you should be okay

It is a tough call. Since we're not preventing, seems like there could be a chance but regarding my history and never o'ing in my own... seems slim! Before babies, I never got AF on my own without a round of progesterone. To conceive #2 doc did progesterone but I never got AF. He instructed me to take Clomid on the "cycle days" and I got pregnant. For this time, since I never got AF with progesterone treatment and the Clomid indeed worked, he just wants me to start it and skip the progesterone.

Keep going back and fourth with DH. We think its probably fine to just start. Would be nice to save ~$300 (since he'd just say yes/no start after an u/s)!

Wow I've never heard of not getting AF after progesterone. In that case, I would probably just start! You've never gotten pregnant naturally right?

Nope, never! TTC nearly two years before I got Clomid for my first, and TTC'd since about 6 months pp for #2 and didn't get pregnant until 2 years later on Clomid again! LO is 12 mo and haven't prevented since birth and nada. I've got one crazy body. Haven't had a "period" since 2012 (and not even sure if it could be called one at that)!

If your positive your not ovulating and not pregnant its safe to start it now. best of luck.
