Clomid with HCG trigger shot

Hey,

I am ttc no.1 since April 2014.

This is my first cycle of Clomid 50 mg. I will be getting a trigger shot (10000miu). I will be getting a scan on day 12 to see how many follicles are growing.

Just wondering if anyone who has done this before could tell me what day they received the trigger shot? Also I am terrified they will cancel the cycle. What is the likelihood of having too many follicles?

Heres a bit of my background. I have borderline polycystic ovaries . I do ovulate on my own but have very irregular cycles. I was pregnant last October but unfortunately miscarried at 9 weeks

Hello, I did 2 trigger shots so far, out of 3 cycles. One was cancelled because of no response. I have polycystic ovaries.
I only had 1 follie both other times, I was triggered on cd12 the first time, and cd15 the second time.
I wouldn't worry about making too much follicles on such a low dose too, 1 to 3 is what is "normal". Good luck!

I'm in a similar boat! I ovulate on my own, but my cycles can vary from 28 days to over 40 days.

This cycle I'm doing Clomid (and injectables) with a trigger shot. I went in for an ultrasound today and don't have mature follicles yet, so now I have to wait a couple of more days. Boo. I want to trigger!

Not sure what the likelihood is of having too many follicles, but I imagine low hopefully! Also, the trigger day will depend completely on your follicle growth. Good luck!

Thanks for the replies. Michellebelle, your cycles are the exact same as mine. Mine are always between 28 and 40 days too. I didn't test positive with blood test for polycystic ovaries but when they did a follicle count I had 15 follicles per ovary which is apparantly too much which is why they put me on Clomid. I hope you have dominent follicles soon

DanaD thanks for the information. It helped me as I am trying to decide what day to start bd-ing. Probably cd 10? What day do you start usually?

I start right when AF leaves, every 2 days, then everyday from cd10 up to my trigger (I do insiminations, so can't BD after trigger), and at least a couple times after the insimination. But I haven't had a BFP yet so that's not the no-fail way haha.

I am on Femara though. This will be our third medicated cycle, second IUI, and first injectables The first two were BFN's so keep out fx this is our month. I go i tomorrow for an US to make sure no cysts are there then I will get the OK to proceed with the cycle!

Hey Momofadane where about are you on your cycle? im on CD9. Scan in 2 days and hopefully trigger shot. I will start dtd tonight. Is femara an injectable or tablet?

Hi Dilly,
I am on CD7, I will be going in on Saturday, CD10 for my US. I am on Femara and injectables, however a very low dose of injectables. Looks like we are close to the same schedule

so i had a scan on friday which would have been cd 11. I had a 14mm follicle but very thin lining at only 4mm
I was booked in for a repeat ultrasound on cd14 (today). My lining had naturally thickened to 8mm and my follicle had grown to 22mm. I got trigger shot this morning so fingers crossed

Hi Dilly! That's excellent news. It sounds like we are basically on the exact same cycle date. I ended up triggering last night at 10pm.

My US appt ended up being a little crazy. This is my first month of Femara +the smallest amt of injectables, and I ended up with 7 follicles. YIKES!!!!! They had to get the doctors approval to go forward with the IUI tomorrow morning. However after reviewing everything he gave the option up to me. I was advised I still only have a 28% chance of conceiving, however if I do get pregnant, my chances of twins is very likely. My DH decided to try and still go for it this month, since our chances of getting pregnant are still against us, its worth a shot.

momofadane thats unreal that you got 7 follicles!!! im so jealous. I would totally have gone ahead with the cycle too. Twins or triplets would be fine with me at this stage. You are so lucky that your clinic went ahead with it. My clinic cancels the cycle if you have anything more than 2 follicles which sucks!

I BDed Saturday nite, this mornnig and I was going to do it tomorrow nite as well. Du think thats enough or should I do tonight also?

I think you have great odds this month especially since you are doing IUI.

Thanks Dilly, Im excited but nervous! Well I was advised to BD every other day, only bc by DH had lower count at the time. I am not sure what the protocol is for Good sperm count. I was told however, every other day does the trick. I think tomorrow night would be good, especially since you did this morning. That way he can fill his tank back up LOL.

lol momofadane you are totally right. I had the same idea of allowing the tank to fill back up. We skipped last nite and will do it tonight.

My hubbie had a low sperm count last october. It was 7.9 million per ml then. But now it is gone up to 22million per ml after taking vitamins for 3 months. Has your hubbie had different sperm count readings at different times?

Just got done with the IUI. so the TWW officially begins

My DH is on clomid ad HCG to boost his natural testosterone, and as a result, more sperm. We started out with zero and as of March over 100 mil, then last month first IUI was 60mil pre was (dont know total count). Then today it was 59mil and post wash 19mil. He messed up his HCG this month, so his numbers dropped.
