So I am officially two days away from being full term and I am getting so excited. Now it's all about waiting :) Everyone thinks she'll be coming early so I am just waiting and preparing myself for what's to come.

I watch the show A Baby Story like everyday and I noticed that a lot of people that got the epidural had trouble pushing because they couldn't feel anything.

For those of you who has had labor and an epidural, is it truly hard to push? That kind of worries me a little because I know that sometimes if you can't push they end up doing a c-section (if it's really bad) or using the forceps/vacuum and I don't want that.

hey! congrats on being full term- wooohooo!!! i am so jealous! i watch a baby story pretty much every day too, lol. but sorry this is my first so i don't know anything about the epidural, but i have heard that if you are having trouble feeling when to push, they will just tell you that you are about to have a contraction and tell you when to push.

I have no personal experience about epidurals but I know it can make it harder to push and some hospitals/doctors won't even allow you to push until the epidural has worn off a bit.

Wow I didn't know that hopefully it'll be easier than it seems.

Yeah my mom was a L&D nurse for years and the hospital she worked at didn't allow women to push until they could feel a bit again...so really epidurals can make labor a lot longer. :/

I won't be having one haha.

Haha. I think that if I can't handle it from the very beginning I'll be getting one because I know it'll just get worse that's my plan haha.

hi there ladies, i had an epidural with my first DD. it was amazing!!! but it is true you really cant feel how hard your pushing and i had to be told when to push. its great for pain tho
