Does anyone have a little who cluster feeds every single night during their witching hour? My guy (3 weeks old) has three hours (usually 730-1030ish) every single night where he is awake and fussy, and he cluster feeds this whole time. Has been doing for over a week now.
Except that he is fussy with the feeds (acts hungry, has trouble latching, eats for a minute then freaks and fights off the boob; and repeat). We started on some silent reflux meds today, but I'm not sure if the feeding issues during his witching hour are normal or reflux related (he sometimes has the feeding issue during the day, but often feeds fine).

That's all pretty normal for a three week old. There's a big growth spurt going on around then that contributes to the cluster feeding and fussy behaviour. Sounds like typical newborn behaviour rather than anything reflux related. It's no fun at the time, but it will pass, probably right around the time that you begin asking yourself if this is ever going to end.

That is very normal. My son didn't do this but my daughter did every night for a while.

This is my third, she is almost two weeks old. She does this from about 7-2am and I was basically about to lose my mind. I recently developed a very painful DVT clot and had a c section so sleeping is so hard normally, I really needed to figure seething out. I'm normally very anti pacifier BUT I called her pediatrician, and after reviewing that she is gaining weight faster than average, she recommended I try a pacifier after she has fed well.

I was getting so frustrated because she would act hungry then REFUSE to latch on, even though she nurses very well during the day. She wakes and then kicks and screams every ten minutes or so until she falls back asleep.

The pacifier has been amazing! She sleeps much better if she is laying against me as well :)

My ds was the same and it does continue at certain times when they're having a growth spurt! Hang in there and keep going, it does get easier!

I am thinking he isn't actually hungry when he does this fussing. I was trying pacifiers and he wouldn't take, but I found a different one (more nipple shaped) and he will take it. Saved my sanity last night! And we both slept better last night. He normally wakes up fussing with a stomach ache every morning, so I wonder if he was over eating in the evenings because I misread his sucking cues as hunger cues.

I found a soother a life saver ! My LO would feed but turned out it wasn't for food but comfort . Have learned her different crys now and can tell the difference , can't be without the soother now .
