Hi all my poor little Alfie has colic, he's 8 days old and just will not stop crying all night, does anyone have any advice please???? i feel so helpless.

Infacol. Before EVERY feed. I might take a few days to work as it needs to line the tummy. I havent used it but I hear good thing about Colief too. :) I had a couple of bad days then we turned a corner.

Sorry you are going through this. I know it's difficult especially if you are exclusively breastfeeding as it's tough to get the colic relief drops into them without having to express and bottle feed them first. Sometimes, I have found that if it she is crying due to trapped wind, laying them down and bringing their knees up to their chest can help to relieve it. How about massage?

hiya get some infacol and when hes a month old gripe water is good, different winding positions lieing him on his front over your knees and rubing or patting his back is good or sitting on your lap and move his body round in a slight circular motion can help and pushing his legs up towards his belly, ive also heard colief is good but didnt try it as it expensive, baby massage is good for colic too also using a bouncer helps xxx

Oh yes and gripe water - its excellent!! I used it before a month - its only peppermint water or similar. There's no alcohol in it these days so the Dr's say its fine even before a month with bad wind.

Yep as everyone else has said, Infacol or gripe water. I found with Faith she was most comfortable lying on her front across our laps and her back being rubbed x

We used both infacol and gripe water, tried some colief (which is brilliant, but doesn't get on with one of Tegans meds) and now we just use Dr Browns bottles which have made a huge difference. Stopped using infacol after about a month and still have some Gripe Water in the cupboard in case of emergencies, but with the infacol make sure you give it with every feed, and if giving gripe water give it after :) Good luck xx

thanks ladies got some infacol so starting it today. I'm breastfeeding so colief would be difficult to use. fingers crossed it works!!!!!! He cluster feeds for hours on a night so should i give him it each time he wants top latch on or just once before the cluster feeding and maybe once in the middle???

I would give it once before and once during for good measure, it is thought that colic could be caused by wind which makes sense IMO because now we have tackled the trapped wind Tegan's colic has gone :) I really hope it works for you hun because it is so stressful xx
