I cannot believe that people are trying to make a lot of money out of desperate mummies trying to get their hands on C&G or aptamil comfort milk whilst they're out of stock. There are cartons of powder listed on there for £55 buy it now!

Also can't believe people have actually bid around £90 for 3 tubs.

It's also ridiculous Daily Mail have drawn attention to it as I'm sure some unscrupulous people are now searching out the last stock just to be able to sell at a profit.

Really makes my blood boil!

Yeah it's shocking. I made a post about this the other day on the ff section.

My LO has been on comfort milk and gaviscon sine she was about 6weeks.

When we realized there was an issue we got our family members to scour tiny chemists and managed to get 5 tubs which should last until the shortage is over. There were more tubs available but I wouldn't dream of taking them & trying to make a profit, I left them on the shelves for other mums / babies. Now I wish I'd bought them & sold them on here at cost price just in case they were bought by someone to make a profit.

Makes me sick to think people will try & profit out of a hungry baby who gets terrible pains on normal milk :brat:
x

Read that this morning on daily mail, £55!! Unbelievable

Thats disgusting, my first daughter was on comfort milk as she was in a terrible pain with anything else i'd be furious if people were buying what was left to make profit!

Exactly these poor babies are usually on comfort milk as anything else causes pain - I hope none suffer because of people trying to make money.

That's awful.
I am really struggling to get any. Only have enough for a couple more days. My baby is on c and g comfort. Have tried everywhere!!
Does anyone know if sma comfort is any good?

Xxx

Its disgusting my mum had to give my baby sister whoose 5 weeks old aptamil comfort coz she had really bad colic only used one tub and could already see an improvement and when i went out to buy her another tub they werent in stock! She has to go back to first milk now just hoping her colic doesnt return

I know some ppl who use it and think its ok. Some babies seem to not like the taste of sma though so might need some persuasion.

Have heard its starting to get in short supply though as ppl turn to it so worth getting a tub soon if you want to try it.

The more ppl I hear affected the crosser I get. Hope all your babies are ok on the alternatives.

Hadley did a big tour of all the milks when we were trying to find something to suit her and we have a tub of aptamil comfort with only a few feeds missing. I offered this to a woman at our baby group the other day when she was telling me about the shortage. It didn't even occur to me to try and "sell" it, what on earth is wrong with people. It's baby milk for crying out loud.

Also in regard to the SMA comfort, we found it quite similar to the aptamil one so if people are really desperate I'd say give it a go.

I've had to put my lo back on to c&g first milk...thankfully he seems ok on it now, must be as he is a little older. Was gutted when I had to do it though as it stresses you out! Was thinking about his poor little belly and the fact it will taste completly different. X

According to the Aptamil website it's back in stock from Monday so should be sorted by next week.

And yes trying to sell formula for anything more than cost price is awful.

I think it's a disgrace! I managed to get 2 tubs this morning from my local boots!

I also think its a disgrace the company has allowed this to happen in the first place!

There's very little Danone can do if they are let down by a supplier; and this has been caused by a world wide shortage of maize due to bad weather affecting the crop. Formula is a food stuff, it can be affected by food shortages. It's one of the risks of formula use. Same as if the dairy farmers ever go on strike. Best to have a few stacked in your cupboard if you can for emergencies.

It's terrible people selling it on eBay lils been on comfort milk since 4 weeks - lucky I stock up. But my best friends daughter looks like she has colic so will take her my spare tub as lil is 6 months and her daughter is 2 weeks old

I got a tub on ebay yesterday for £3.44 with free postage.
