Hi all,

HV has advised me to start using comfort milk for James' colic. Infacol was useless, gripe water worked for a while but no longer! Was going to buy Colief but the HV advised that Colief is just a weaker form of gripe water, glad I didn't waste £11.99 on that!
Really looking forward to trying the comfort milk, fingers crossed it'll change things around for us. Anybody else used it and had good results?

Im 1 week into using Aptamil comfort, my lo had trapped wind and infacol stopped him pooing and he was miserable. Its definately helped the trapped wind, he trumps all the time now, but boy do they stink!

His poos are quite runny now but he is going every day, day and a half now.

I dont like the milk personally tho, the water needs to be quite hot for it to mix, so its a pain at night for me as baby decides when he wants fed and he wants it now!! There is no ready made comfort milk either so making bottles when out is hard and i have to carry a flask and some cooled boiled water with me. Im hoping he will only be on this milk short term.

Its strange that your hv told you that, mine told me colief breaks down the enzymes in the milk so it essentially has the same make up as comfort milk, but i decided against using it as you have to make it in advance.

My mum uses this for my lil sister. Been on it 3 weeks and i personally can notice a differece already. She doesnt cry as much as she used to due to colic. The milk is thicker though so had to use size 2 teat and sometimes small amounts dont mix properly if not using boiling water

we used it for our LO and the difference was amazing. within two days he was happier, no longer drawing his legs up or screaming. He went on it when he was about 12 days old and we kept him on it till this week when we have now changed back to normal formula (the lack of stock of comfort milk meant we had to change) and so far with the change back he is fine, but he is that bit older now so that may be why.

We are on aptamil comfort since 4 weeks huge difference :)
