Coming over from breast feeding for good.

He was screaming last night
so after trying a million times to feed him
& winding & changing & cuddling
I sent MIL to tesco for cow & gate
He took the 3.5oz which made me feel better
maybe he just had enough of mommy's milk
nearly cried when I gave it in as everyone else could hold him to feed him..
HOW SELFISH AM I ?
Feel a bit strange atm, boobies R sore
But happy I changed to formula

Don't worry hun, I think it's totally normal how you're feeling. I wsn't able to BF at all Joe wouldn't latch properly and I really worried about it too, but FF has worked great for him and OH does the last feed of the day, which he really enjoys

Don't worry, you will soon feel better when you see your LO is still happy, they still need you x I breast fed for only a very short period of time and it did surprise me how upset I was that I wasn't BF ~ we still get lots of feeding cuddles still, other people get bored of it soon enough surprisingly.

How about expressing and combining the feeds for a bit? I felt this helped me ween myself off BF her, she was still drinking my milk for a bit but not going hungry (my supply was too low). It was still nice that only I could provide that feed for a bit iykwim.

my lo was really difficult to bf as well, i battled for just about 3 months to keep going and still bf on some feeds now, have you thought about expressing some feeds for a few weeks to give more breast milk? might make you feel better about it being 'you feeding' which is perfectly natural and not at all selfish! I think lots of people combination feed if its best for you and baby, but whatever you choose you are really brave for making the decisions to make you and your baby happy! xxxx

I combination feed my LO but I dont express I just offer the boob when hes hungry and give him formula after because hes a hungry one he takes what he can get from BF and then 3-4 oz of formula after...but if I need a break or someone to watch him he just gets the formula it works for me and Ill be doing this until my milk drys up only problem is he expects to BF at night Ive spoiled him to that so now trying to give a little formula at night also to keep him from making it a comfort thing just incase I decide to go to full FFing. just do whats best for you and your LO and your definatly not selfish...
