Hiya.
I had my 20 weeks scan yesterday and when they were scanning his legs they were measuring in the 18th week, 18 weeks 4 days I think it said. my waters also looked low. pretty much all of him other the his stomach is measuring small, not as small as his legs though.
the measurements I have are:
HC (head circumference)- 170.4mm
Vp (posterior ventricle)- 7.2mm
TCD transcerebellar diameter)- 19.6mm
AC ( abdominal circumference)- 148.8mm
FL (femur length)- 28.9mm.

my eldest was an iugr baby and my consultant has already said that chances are baby will be early, and that was at my 16 week appointment

I had my scan at 19+ 5, I've just been to look at my measurements and they are:
HC 161.6mm
AC 139.6
Femur 31.3 with an estimated weight of 290g
There are percentages next to the numbers ranging from 3-54
I have no idea what it means, she asked if my others were small, they were 6lb13 and 7lb11 but both 42 weeks and now they're using the personalised growth charts they're way down on the centiles. But she didn't seem that bothered?
Are you having extra care with your history?

yea I am, I have to have 3 extra scans and see the consultant with each of them. my next scan isn't for another 8 weeks though.

saw my midwife today and she's sending a referral for another scan. I showed her a scan photo and explained that I thought the water levels looked low and I was concerned about his femur length as it was right at the bottom of the chart thing.
she didn't seem to concerned and asked if there is dwarfism in the family and as she could see I was clearly worried shes sending the referral Friday when shes at the hospital.

Oh good, hopefully you'll get some reassurance from another scan

Aty 20 wk scan, my baby's femurs were on the small side, however as long as they're above the 3rd centile, it's not a big concern. I was scheduled a follow up scan at 25wks to check the growth & they are growing proportionately & then some! Think positive Hun xx

thank you ladies

i'm not sure what centile line they are on as it doses not say it just shows a line with 3 dots, one at the start, centre and end, and he has been plotted right next to the start line

That's about where mine was at 20wks. They rescanned at 25 & his femur length had gone further along that line slightly. As long as it's between those end dots though, you're ok. I think the end dot actually represents the 5th centile & if it's smaller than that, they get concerned. But at the moment, it looks like your LO is just in there :) Will they rescan you later to see the progression? A friend of mine had this same problem & her little boy was absolutely fine xx

I feel a bit concerned now that maybe I should ask about my measurements as a couple of them are small too...

they were going to wait till my 28 week growth scan. had that booked since 16 weeks, it was only because I was worried and I've had a previous iugr baby that my midwife has referred me to have an earlier growth scan.

My babies measurements were small in some areas for my 20w scan. Her femurs were quite a bit shorter but I can't remember specifics.
