My little girl is 10 days old, so far breastfeeding has been going very well honestly couldn't ask for more. My concern is how much she is getting. Because she was a preemie and lost so much weight they wabted me to supplement with feedings so I started to pump after every feeding usually every 2 hours during day 4 at night since my husband does a bottle at 2 hours at night. I got all the way up to getting consistently 2-3 oz after each feeding till last night. Now when I pump after she feeds Im getting nothing not even an ounce. Is she still getting enough is there a reason for my loss in supply. I have noticed she will suck on one boob for 10 min stop then want the other which I know is great but she use to nurse 20-30 min on one boob... Please help

Maybe she has just gotten more efficient at emptying the breast? I think if she is satisfied after feeding, has the right number of dirty and wet diapers and is gaining weight she is getting enough. I won't get much from pumping after my lo has fed, but if I pump a full breast I can get 2-3 oz from one breast.

I would only worry if she doesnt seem satisfied. If you keep pumping even though it seems nothing is coming out you will boost your supply and be able to pump more long term.

I noticed a drop in the amount of time my LO would feed right around the one week mark. I was worried at first, but he was gaining and seemed satisfied, so I just let him take the lead and not worry.

There's a growth spurt at around 7-10 days so I bet all that extra milk you used to be able to pump is now going into your baby :)

As PP said, keep pumping even though you're getting nothing out at the moment, because your supply will increase and you should be fine again after that x

I agree she's probably got better at feeding and all the excess milk you used to pump is now in her tummy! If her weight is back on track you might not need to keep pumping as your supply may already be matching her demand. Those 30minute feeds each side would have told your body to increase production, so now maybe you are producing more she doesn't have to suckle for as long to get what she wants. The next growth spurt she'll go back to wanting to be on the boob forever, just trust that this is a GOOD thing as it will make your body produce what your baby needs - although the few days waiting for supply to catch up with demand can be a bit hellish (but remember it wont last forever).
