Conflict, my FOB's child's name too similar? rant

He has a daughter named Isabella.
We are not together but hopeful he'll have a relation with LO.
i'm thinking of naming her Arabella.
But i feel maybe the names are too similar?
He already calls his other child Bella, so what could he then call our Daughter
I feel I might have to give up on a name I quite like cause of this

Its a nice name, and lots of people name twins similar names like that so I dunno. Her 'for short' name could be Ari?

I love both Isabella and Arabella (I like Arabella a lot more, actually) but because the similarity of the names I'd probably not use it (but I have to be honest I have no clue what FOB stands for..lol..if I'm getting it remotely right, I think it'd be a bit weird to have two daughters for him with so similar names..just my opinion, anyways!) Yeah that's how I feel, I also feel as if I was a bit of a copycat or something, as they are indeed very similar names I think, the Bella part is quite "strong". But I dont know
Keeps popping up to my mind that name. Maybe Aurora is an alternative but then I have had the comment that Aurora sounds like a stripper's name:O

I love the name Arabella! But too similar to Isabella, i'm afraid! Little Isabella may feel "replaced" if daddy has another baby with practically the same name! Plus, if i was Isabella's Mommy, i would prob be PO'ed too! Lol. What does FOB think about it??

I do agree that they sound quite similar. And i do prefer Arabella, it's a gorgeous name.

How about Ariella... then your getting rid of the "bella" and replacing it with "ella" for a nick name so it's not so similar.

But, at the end of the day it's your child and you can call her whatever you like

yeah i found that name, i really love it but then my mom said everyone will think of the little mermaid called Ariel and then the biggest detergent make here thats called Ariel

FOB means father of baby OH means other half DS is darling son i think... and DD is darling daughter... DH is darling husband and so fourth...

Shes saying the father of her baby already has a daughter to someone and she is called isabella and she wants to name the baby they are about to have arabella but its too similar... i think you should call your baby whatever you like hun

Initially I thought the similarity wouldn't matter, but then I read that he calls his daughter Bella, and I do think it's too similar. It would also narrow down Arabella's nickname options as a lot of people with names like that seem to prefer being called Bella, which obviously would be inconceivable with a sister already called Bella. But I think you should still use it if you like it a lot. Or how about using Arabella as a middle name?
