Confused about new WTC rules?

I know that the entitlement for WTC is going up to 24 hours per week..But I don't understand who for?

Is it for EVERYONE or is it ONLY NEW CLAIMS??

It is for everyone but only joint claims (as i understand it) so you have to be working 24 hours per week between you. If it is a single claim for WT then you only have to be working 16 hours Xx

So at least one of the couple needs to work at least 24 hours to claim?

I work 16 hours and DH works 40 - so will the change affect us?

There were so many people who kept asking me if I had heard about the changes. I went on the official website and read up on it to see what they were talking about. It wont affect us as I work 16 hours and my OH works 40 hours but as I understood it if you are a single claimant you will have to work 24 hours but I could have got that wrong!

I asked a girl at work about this who's in the same situation as me, BUT... She's a single parent and she said that it's still a minimum of 16 hours for single parents. So I'm guessing now that it's just couples it's changing for

I wish they could just announce things plain and simple.. Would make life so much easier
