Hi, Im actually TTC ! and I have a question reguarding giving birth.
when my mom had her first child she was about my age, young, and flat lined after giving birth. they revived her and kept her in the hospital for some time.
Im ttc and I am worried about giving birth, can the same thing happen to me? I'm not sure if that can be passed down onto me.. having difficulty while giving birth.. or can does it just happen to some few people?
really confussed here. Please help! :)

Also is it true that if you had a c-section , that if you were to get pregnant again you won't be able to have a regular birth, they all have to be c-sections?

Hi, firstly c-sec's if your had one you can have what they call on here a 'vbac'.. A vaginal birth after ceserian but it depends why you had one the first time, if it's safe for you to give birth naturally then absolutely.

As for the hereditary with labour as far as i know there's no link unless you have a passed down medical condition you both suffer which impacted. Everyone's labours run differently, sometimes even if you have the most straight forward pregnancy you can suffer complications in labour. Your biologically designed to reproduce and give birth, it's very rare that your body isn't capable of doing so.. Just sometimes people need a little help. You will be fine. Good luck with your ttc x

Unless you have a genetic heart condition passed down from your mother its highly unlikely that that sort of thing would happen to you, if your TTC perhaps discuss it with your doctor before you get pregnant, if you think it could be possible, and he could test you to make sure your heart is fine.

As for sections, you can go on to have a vaginal birth after, but if your reason for needing a section was a heart condition then you wouldnt be wanting/able to. but if you has a section for any other reason then there is no reason you cant go on to have a VBAC (like the pp posted).

Okay thanks alot, you both have been alot of help!

Me and my mother don't share any genetic condition.
I do though have a heart condition a heart murmur. Hopefulyl I won't have to do a c-section becuase of it. but as long as I have a healthy baby it won't matter really.
