Constipated!

Morning ladies,

I realised on Friday that I hadn't been to the toilet properly for about a week. I was hoping this would right itself over the weekend but it hasn't and I'm feeling quite uncomfortable and I'm starting to have a few pains in my stomach and across my back which I am putting down to that. I went to the chemist on Saturday but the medicine she wanted to give me said to check with my gp if pregnant. Does anyone have some tips they can give me that I could try this morning? I'm about to have a coffee on an empty stomach which is supposed to help. All advice gratefully received!

Apparently it's good to eat high fibre foods when constipated, or you could just drink lots of water. That's bound to help :)
 
Grape juice!!!!!!! I found it hard to eat high fibrous foods when I felt so sick but I could manage grape juice!
 
fresh orange juice, as much of it as u can stomach - gives u the runs - or a bucket load of polo's neither will help u b regular again but help for a clear out! i tend to go 4-5 days atm before going x
 
I tried the prune juice. It was awful, I had to drink it over the sink (sorry). However, it worked, well made a good start anyway. We had some activity within half an hour. I alo had three sticks of licquorice and have some dried apricots for later. I have decided to stay home tonight :winkwink: I had my mid-wife appointment earlier and she thinks it was because of the iron tablets I was taking and told me to stop.
 
i think the prune juice is a bit of an aquired taste! i kinda just down it as quick as it will go.

hmm, yes iron tablets will defo bung you up.
