Niamh has been prescribed Gavison for her reflux, which works really well. However, since she's been on it shes very constipated.

She's been trying all day to have a bowel movement and just screaming every time she tries, with tears rolling down her face. She has since managed to have one, but it was very hard and like pellets (sorry tmi) and she was crying and straining the whole time.

I've given her cooled boiled water and had a warm bath with her. Is there anything else I can do?

aww, sorry to hear that baby niamh is suffering - my little Amelia had the same problem but it sorted itself out within a few days - maybe a week x Keep on with the boiled water.

Archie was the same hun....it was either reflux and no constipation or no reflux and terrible belly and horrid constipation so i chose to stop the gavicson as it was jus replacing one pain for another xx

Yeah thats how I feel :( Its awful to watch them in pain.

most people end up stopping the gaviscon for that reason... until they get older and are weaning and can have foods to combat the constipation.

My LO gets constipation from gaviscon too -thought it was just Charlie x

I think some massage can help too. Clockwise massage on the tummy.

Hope she improves soon x
