Are you exercising? I find this helps with the old b.movement (I am not pregnant).

I've heard apple juice works well. Exercising works too, I know going for a brisk walk seems to help me. Hope you feel better soon :hugs:

well i walk around an hour a day when im going to and from work and then walking around work and i walk to my nans every evening after work so exercise isnt a problem

Blimey, I would of thought that would have got things working.

I would talk to your midwife then.

I know you can take senokot the powder one that dissolves in water.

can you take that in pregnancy? im thinking of ringing my doctor tommorow to see what he sugests

Can def take during pregnancy its also advertised in a lot of the pregnancy magazines. After i first seen it i checked with my midwife before i took it and she said it was fine.

Have you tried drinking a strong cup of coffee?

I've also heard that you should drink boiled water, as hot as you can handle, like 2 cups or so and that will loosen everything up. I tried it once and it worked.

i shall try the warm water thanx hun, failing that i will be visiting the doc to see what he sugests as im not to keen to have laxatives as id be goin from one extreme to another lol

Go to the docs, I did and they gave me orange flavoured stuff which disolves in water (full of yucky floaty bits) but it worked a treat! The doc says it works exactly the same as fibre but gives you that extra dose to get things moving!

Also, I was really worried about all the pushing (sorry TMI) and getting piles, so best to get it sorted sooner than later!

Hi Vicki

i was told by my doc that I could not take senokot until 12 weeks +, however I have found that dried apricots are helping me at the moment and lots of cereal - now getting used to going every 3-4 days which aint nice but at least I am going now.

It will all be worth it - i keep telling myself.:dohh:

Take care hun x

poor u!

Reflexology will sort it out no probs!!

I good rub of your intestines in your feet usually works a treat! I know people with consipation problems and they have this on a regular basis to help them.

If you know someone that does it even better!

I am going tonight for reflexology it is amazing xx

I used to have Irritable Bowel syndrome for years and it was horrible. I wouldn't go for days and the bloating was horrendous, even after eating something small. So, I ate very little.

Coffee helped me.

Another thing I used to do is drink hot water with lemon in it.

My first pregnancy tended to correct the IBS. Now I have problems only around my period, but nothing like I used to when it was on a daily basis.

For the pains, a hot water bottle helps and I find when my stomach is uncomfortable a hot bath tends to help as well.

Funny enough too, if I don't get up at the same time every morning, that day I may or may not be able to go to the bathroom. Sometimes your body has it's routine :)
