My LO has been very constipated today. She was straining really badly and making these little yelping noises, was absolute torture to watch. When I changed her nappy I noticed her bottom was bleeding and very sore looking bless her.

I gave her a pear and she did pass a softer BM but is there anything else I can do for her? Is constipation quite common with blw? I don't remember my other two suffering like this, they were TW so not sure what is causing it.

Poor thing, I didn't offer finger foods initially but when Lucas went from purees to proper solid food his stools definitely changed and he struggled sometimes so that might be it. I'd offer plenty of fluid and feed things like banana, peaches, broccoli etc to help her.

Yeah I find Emilia sometimes has quite hard BMs and struggles a little. I think it's because they don't get as much fluid as TW babies, I just make sure I offer her water as often as I can (which she rarely takes!) and give her plenty of fruit and veggies like broccoli and cabbage that have higher water content. My dd also loves curries so that helps but can create BMs of the opposite kind which isn't always good either

Banana seemed to get my little lady going.

Thanks all, she does seem better now. Can't believe how much she was struggling, I'll be sure to keep up the fruit and veg.
