Hi
This pregnancy I will be under the consultant my little man was 11lb 5 oz at birth the whole consultant thing sounds scary what happens at a consultant appointment ? I'm only under the consultant to keep an eye on the size of peanut incase peanut is big it's unlikely though my daughter wasn't too big and Harry is disabled which could be why he was so big !!

Sorry my first appt is at 22 weeks just worried really I hate all dr things lol quite happy just having a midwife !!

I'm consultant led because I have PCOS and I've suffered with depression. I had my first appointment at 16 weeks. To be honest I didn't see the point it it. They just explained that I'll have extra scans to check babies growth, one at 28weeks and one at 34 weeks. At 34 weeks if baby is measuring big then they will decide fro. There if I need to be induced early or have a section. It's really just check baby is growing as it should. I wouldn't worry about it, you get to see your little one more that's all. :)

I had similar concerns! I am Consultant led because of my age and had my first apt last week. She was lovely and has booked me in for scans and reviews at 28, 32 and 36 wks to monitor growth. I am more than happy to have more scans so I am not arguing! :)

I'm consultant led too as my family has a history of diabetes and I have tachycardia and raynauds which means that I've got to have extra scans at 28, 32 and 36 weeks to check growth. At my first appy they just took my full medical history and listened to titches heartbeat :)

I'm consultant led and I couldn't be happier about it. Suffer from a strange kind of migraine, had low levels of papp-A in my first pregnancy and had problems with blood pressure and then developed pre-eclampsia. Under the same consultant this time and feel reassured that my baby is getting lots of extra checks and the best possible care. No issues so far this pregnancy but know that if there are any problems they're likely to be picked up early and so not develop into anything more serious.

Interesting to read this, I'm consultant-led this time too as DS1 got stuck and was a forceps delivery. I have my first appt with the consultant at 28 weeks.

I'm being consultant led because I suffer stress, depression and anxiety but my first appointment isn't until I am 23 weeks, I don't understand really what the consultant will do??

I kinda feel I've been abandoned abit =\

Xxxxxx

I'm under the consultant too as I have APS and have to take blood thinning injections daily I have extra growth scans booked for 30 and 36 weeks x

i was second preg an this preg (3rd). I saw con at 14 weeks was like mw check ie took bp urine an also listened bubs heartbeat. We then discussed plan ie ill have 3/4 extra scans an mw etc will eatch me closly. I had severe pre e in labour first preg hibh bp second preg. All it means is there keeping closer eye on you. An i think my con appoints coinside with mw so ill see con instead (my con has mw there too).
