Consultant today

Hiya,

Ive got a consultant appointment today but I havent had one throughout pregnancy so I was wondering what will the appointment intail?

Im quite nervous

Did they say the reason for you seeing the consultant? I've seen a consultant after every scan but only because we are IVF and booked under consultant led care. Mine just discussed the scan results and my pregnancy, it's never taken longer than 10minutes.

Nope no reason, Mum said they could be talking to me incase I go over my due date? Im assuming theworst in everything

it could be forincase you go over your due date, my friend saw a consultant although it was a couple of days past her due date due to her size and whether they would want her going over to much, could that be a reason? i see a consultant due to a previous pregnancy with a labour that had a bad bleed. i dont think you have anything to worry about otherwise i would of thought they would tell you, when i see the consultant its mainly the mw and the consultant comes in at the end and says what they would like done/ when

I find my appointments alter the exact same as a midwife appointment apart from they will focus on one part while you are there and that will be the reason you are there to see them. I see mine coz I have a bicornuate uterus so he does all the same things my
Midwife does and then gives me a scan to check how baby is and that she isn't getting squashed yet as she won't have as much room as with a normal uterus. He then discusses everything so far x x

I think its strange they havent told you why you need to see one.
My MW wanted me to see one due to previous section, rightly or wrongly I politely refused.

Hope all is ok and its something straight forward.

I wouldnt worry if it's just an appointment and theyve not mentioned a scan or anything, I agree with the others its probably to discuss if you go over x

I had a scan done last week as Midwife said baby was measuring small, but the scan shoowed that baby was OK and a normal size.

Im scared incase they do any examinations on me, my belly has been sore past two days, got bad back and welll erm...... I cant shave as I cant see my bits haha.

Me and OH tried sex the other day, could only manage it for a bit cos I was so sore so Im really worried

Maybe it's to discuss the scan results with you then? What time is your appointment? I know it's awful when you dont know what to expect hun but try not to worry Let us know how you get on x

2.30 and I will do, I actually thought pregnancy was straight forward haha but its not! xx

Well it was pretty pointless!

They didn't even no why I was there :s.

Got to go back 13th feb if I haven't gone into labout to discuss induction

Exactly, was just a midwife appointment reallly! They couldnt find the heartbeat at first but then they found it which was a relief.
