Coping with labour.. Quick question

I'm currently in early labour and need a bit of help please.

If using relaxation/ hypnotherapy did you use this technique through the whole of labour or just when the the contractions started?

Please share any other coping techniques that you find helpful.

Really appreciate it!!
 
In established labor I counted and focused on each number. It gave me something to look forward to and to focus on. It also helped me time how long and measure my progression. I managed to do this from 7cm-9cm (this took 4.5 hours). Finally had to get meds as my waters had been ruptured for over 24 hours and they were worried about infection.
 
I used the Hypnobirthing breathing and visualization techniques during contractions and it really helped. Other great ways I coped: hot shower, positioning myself over a chair, and having my DH put pressure on my hips.
