I tested day 30 and day 33 both

Could i have tested to early?

Whether you tested too early will depend on how long your cycles are??

Some women don't get a BFP until a week or more after AF was due...

I agree, how long are your cycles normally and when do you normally ovulate?? Both will help determine when you'd be due for AF and when you should test.

Cycle is usually 27/28 days.

I ov 14 days before AF not been tracking it for a few months so that is from previous testing. It was getting to stressful.

well based on that, no i don't think you tested too early. but maybe you O'd late this cycle or your hpts aren't sensitive enough??
