Hi, I am 29yrs old and this is my story: Ive had 2 mc's in the past year and a half, and I think Im going through the third one at the moment (waiting on hcg levels to confirm my suspicions). All my mc's have happened between wk 5-6 and have started with spotting that gradually gets worse. The spotting starts half way through wk 4. Ive also had an ectopic, the pregnancy before this one. I have been analysing my mcs alot and am starting to think there could be a genetic problem. I recently found out my cousin is also having a really hard time with staying pregnant. My doctor kind of dismissed the idea. Anyone else come across this or heard about miscarriages running in the family? Or am I just trying too hard to find an explanation for my mcs? I want to ask around my family, I have a lot of aunts and girl cousins, and find out if anyone else is having these issues. I just wish it was less of a taboe to speak about mc. I almost feel uncomfortable asking my family but I know I really shouldnt have to feel like I have anything to be ashamed about.

Can you ask to be passed to the recurrent mc clinic if this pg does end in mc? I guess it would be dependent on the reason for your recurrent mc as to whether there was a chance it was related to your genetics?

The miscarriage association has leafelts online about recurrent mc and what testing they do.

I think asking around your family wouldn't hurt tho but without having more definitive ideas about what's causing you to mc it might only add questions - but at the same time when you went for testing it may help the specialist looking in to your problem?

Fingers crossed this pg doesn't end in mc and that you get some answers.

There are plenty of ladies on here who have suffered recurrent mc and there is a recurrent mc sticky on the loss forum

:hugs: Hope you have your sticky bean soon

Thank you for your advice. I re-posted the question on the loss part of the site. Its more suited there.

Take care!

they say it's not a genetic thing....

my grandma had a mc at 6 weeks (normal mc)
my mom at 8 months (no reason found)
me at 8 weeks (ectopic)

all different reasons as to why it went wrong but still...ugh, it's a freak coincedence
