Council house. Unsafe wires?

When I moved in the old tenants left cut off electrical wires everywhere. Theyre still attached to the mains I think. Will the council come sort these out or do I need to hire my own electrician? I don't want them lying around when I'll have a child crawling round this time next year? Xx

they shouldn't have re let the property like that!it's the councils responsibility xx

I would have the council out as an emergency if you have live electrical wires like that, I would also be seeking advice re a compliant against them as when they relet a property they have a responsibility to ensure it is safe

Yes, totally the councils responsibility! I would call them straight away they should have checked before it was let!
