As some of you will know, I've been going for acupuncture and cranial osteopathy for about 9 months now, to try to improve my chances for our 4th ivf cycle.
Anyhow, I was with my practitioner on Tuesday, and she did the normal - checked my pulses, shoved a needle into my Solar Plexus and a needle close to both of my ovaries, and then left me for 10 minutes to chill out. She came back and checked my pulses again, and then stabbed my legs and feet (really painful), and checked my pulses again. She then did the cranial osteopathy, which basically involves me resting my bum on her hand while I'm lying on my back. Anyhow, this time she checked my pulses at the same time (something she doesn't normally do) and then she started asking if I had any cramping or tenderness in my boobs. I said no to boob tenderness, a little bit to cramping, and also mentioned that I had been feeling bloated for a day or two.
She then did some shoulder and neck manipulation (which I love) and then came back to the cranial osteopathy again - which she has never done before. She told me she was feeling a definite fluttering sensation and she'd felt it on both occasions that day. Apparently it's something that she's never felt in me before, but she has felt it in a lot of her pregnant female clients before. She said that if I had been a week further into my cycle she would be 95% sure I was pregnant, but because I was only CD19 when I saw her she didn't want to get my hopes up, although she did say that if she had to put a figure on it, she'd say she was around 70% sure she was feeling the very early signs of pregnancy.
I was quite shocked, as DH and I probably only DTD twice between the end of my AF and my estimated OV date. I have no idea when OV was as I stopped monitoring it a long time ago. I remained a bit bloated and had mild cramps until yesterday but today I've had nothing really to report.
Has anyone else ever heard of this fluttering sensation being detected by an osteopath? Maybe I'm clutching at straws or going crazy and hoping for an eleventh hour miracle!!
