Ok, desperate times, desperate measures!

My one year old does not sleep. She often wakes hourly but on average she goes down at 7-half past and will always wake at 10pm. She then generally wakes every 2 1/2 hours til morning. She's knackered. I'm knackered.

Sometimes I breastfeed her at night and sometimes she just seems to want a cuddle. Mostly she wants to feed though. She won't let anyone else settle her.

I don't want to do cry it out or controlled crying....yet! I've read about cranial osteopathy and actually had it myself once and it helped with my problem. Does anyone else have any experience of this? I read that it's usually beneficial to babies who have had a traumatic birth or larger babies who were induced. My baby was induced and weighed 8lbs 12oz. I wouldn't say the birth was traumatic but apparently her shoulder was almost stuck so I'm wondering whether she's a good case for it working?

Any advice would be great. Even if she only woke three times a night I'd be happy!

You could try it but sounds like she needs to learn how to self settle by herself and not rely on you to get her back to sleep.

I have thought this but I don't understand because sometimes she will semi self settle. If that makes sense?! She goes down drowsy but awake.

Not sure how to teach her to do it completely!

We are seeing a cranial osteopath for my 9 week old. He had tongue tie cut and suddenly started doing big vomits so I took him out of desperation and he hasn't done a big vomit since our first session. He's had two sessions and seems a happier and more smiley baby. He is very chilled usually anyway and sleeps well but I really think the osteopath helped a lot with his vomits and she said he had compressions in his skull from where he was lying in the womb (we had a planned c section so defo not from birth). Anyway I know the circumstances are much different but thought I would share our experience as it really has been very positive despite my initial reservations. Good luck x

Worth a try, but I wouldn't say that waking schedule sounded totally abnormal for a 1 yr old. Think my LO usually woke at midnight and then 3am then was up for the day at 6am. Some nights (probably developmental spurts) it'd be 9:30pm, 11pm, 1pm, 2:30, 4:30 etc.

My 2 year old went through a stage of being an awful sleeper. At the time we couldn't to take him for professional massage but I read up and tried simplified versions at home and although it didn't cure him it did make a difference. I'd definitely try it if you think it might help although I have to agree that although your lo might not be a great sleeper my lo was sleeping barely 4 hours a night at his worst
