I know they say that breastfeeding is supposed to help with postpartum weight loss, but it's been the opposite for me. Ever since my delivery, I've been ravenous. I cannot get enough food, especially sugar, and have packed on 10 lbs in 6 weeks and my weight is continuing to rise.

Anyone else going through this? Got any tips to help combat the intense cravings?

This is totally normal. I ate sooooooooo much when i first started bf but i still lost all my baby weight so dont worry about it. When you crave sugar reach for carbs, it breaks down as sugar in the body (so i am told ) Also drink plenty as well. sometimes we mistake hunger for thirst.

Im glad its not just me. I cant get enough feed atm! Especially chocolate! Its awful ive put on soo much weight! I found quitting smoking easier than trying to give up chocolate! X

willow: Second that. I melt about 20 chocolate chips into my morning coffee every day, and then eat chips out of the bag all day long. What is wrong with me!!! I'm never going to lose the weight this way!

I found at about 3 months after delivery, the intense cravings subsided. I have now lost all my weight at give months pp.

your not alone...my DS is almost 11 weeks and I weigh only 5 lbs less than I did before delivering him. I am trying weight watchers (lost 80lbs on it before getting pregnant) and by mid week I have used all my extra food points cuz I am so hungry! I hope it turns around by 3 months...

It gets better! I'm now on a lower calorie diet and i hate dieting! But it's going well so far

The sugar cravings will subside eventually. Hang in there!

So glad to see this as I thought it was just me! I only gained 22.5 pounds with dd and thought I would have it off in no time! I am having cravings like mad and have been going nuts on the sugar. It has been so strange though because my cravings now are far worse than anything I had while pregnant.

This is what I drink every single morning. No joke. Can anyone top this? (Deliciously punny if I do say so myself…)

Glad I'm not alone. I craved sweet stuff in pregnancy but it's got even worse since. I'm scared of getting thrush since I had it when breastfeeding DD so I've been doing lots of preventative things, but a low sugar diet I just can't manage!

I am a big chocs craver as well. Funny as I only ate sweets on special occasions pre pregnancy.

Yesterday I had this idea that I want to make a banana smoothie. Used one banana and almond milk, and added a spoonful of chocolate powder and a drop of peppermint oil. It smelled amazing but the peppermint was too much. Didn't have time to make another.

A drink wouldn't satisfy my choc cravings I don't think. But worth a shot?

Currently I am addicted to yum yums. I can eat so many and still want more!! Xx
