Crisis loans - living expenses

Hello

I need a little help.

I have been made redundant and it's leaving me with a rather large gap till payday, my baby is 8 weeks old and we have sent off the application forms for benefits but have received no answer.

I have looked at crisis loans for living expenses, but how long do they take to process, and can I just apply over the phone without having to fill ANOTHER form?

From what I can remember you just apply over the phone but they are hard to get unless you are on benefits.
Have you not received wages due?

I think legally they have to pay your wages due and your notice period (if no severance package). Are you on SMP?
